One of the most amazing parts of our ministry together is the number of people who hear us sing and ask, “Do you guys have a CD?”

“We’re working on it,” we always say, which is true—but perhaps misleading.

The obstacles that stand between a start-up musical ensemble like 3.12 and a professionally produced, publicly available CD are... well, they call them obstacles for a reason. Even after the “musical” work—after we’ve come up with a list of songs we like, that demonstrate a range of musical styles, feature each of our voices and our ensemble skills, and fit together well thematically and musically—we’ve still got copyrights to purchase, studio time to book, CD liners to design... and of course over every step of the process there are dollar signs dangling just out of our reach.

We do make a little bit of money in the form of honoraria and love offerings from various performances, but sometimes it feels as though we’ll never have enough in the bank to actually spend any of it!
