Feedback from MCC of the Spirit (4 Nov 2007)

In your concert at MCC, during your offering of “On the Sparrow,” the Lord spoke a word to me, that I need to pass to you all. The basis of the Word was touched on during your concert,

The Word from Your God,

“Yea, your voices have been anointed for a work, a time, a purpose as what I, the Lord YOUR God, have called you to. You will in this day and to this community minister life, hope, and healing. Your testimonies will be used in a way to touch places of individuals—lives and heards—you never thought would be interested in hearing what I have to say to them. You will find yourselves in places where people are hungry for ME and desire ME to be their God, and through your worship and through your praise, and through your lives, Yea, I will heal their spirits and renew them afresh and become real to them. Thus says the Lord, your GOD.”

Jeremiah 33:6 - Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

—Michael

Thank you for bringing joy, and for sharing your souls with us all.

THANKS!

Over the past year, I have been a living testimony that God is there in every way. We may not understand why he leads us in certain directions, but there is a reason. I almost lost my life twice within the past year & if it was not for God, I would not be able to do what I do today.

—Jeramy Nearhood

My 7-yr-old nephew has been blessed by the goodness of God. A few nights ago he had a bad dream which scared him. He went to his grandma and said “Grandma, pray for me.” She prayed for him. The next night he went to bed and got up the next morning came running to grandma and said, “Grammy, Jesus came to me last night and told me that He would keep me safe from every bad thing!” I PRAISE GOD THAT HE IS FAITHFUL TO ME AND NOT TO ME ONLY BUT TO MY FAMILY EVEN TO A 7-YR-OLD who loves God.

Thank you for ministering to my heart with healing songs as I prepare to minister to my dear friend & sister in the Lord (Kathi) tomorrow, 9/29. Her son tried to commit suicide (Aaron). The music touched my heart.

—Sharon

To whom this may concern.

The 3 of us that sit here at this table are needing some help. Sharon that has a heart of gold needs help finding work so that she can pay some bills.

Mark & Melody are 2 homeless people. We have tried reaching out every way that we can. We are disabled. We feel that we have been turned down by so many that say they live by the word of God.

We want to see Sharon Zirkle get some help because she has helped us out so much even though she does not have much.

Sharon lives in Green Meadows Apartments. No phone.

Mark and I have been like leaves blowing in the wind, wondering where we will live with the cold weather just around the corner we are scared.

Mark is autistic.

We all ask for some healing.

—Melody Logsdon

I am Sharon Zirkle, I would like praye for friends needing a place to live financially. They are homeless, and we are helping each other.

I need work and a financial blessing too. And prayer for my Daughter and grandson's and son-in-law. for Salvation. And prayer for the annointing that is to be completed.

Be content where you are in God's plan, & he will open the doors to the desires of your hearts. Remember he placed the desire there from the beginning.

When is it going to End? I ask this.

Pain … Hunger … Being homeless … Stress … Being sick … Being lost … Being scared!

I celebrated my birthday (45) tonight w/ 3.12, Warm Hearts Café, & my dearest friends. It was a “bangin' blessing.” All ingredients of God's plan. After a week of broken stressed and a wrecked mess in my life.

Thank you for sharing this milestone as I seek another year to serve him.

Feedback from Harrisburg PrideFest 2007 (28 July 2007)

Hi David,

Thank you and congratulations for a wonderful performance at the Harrisburg Pride Festival yesterday. You all have a powerful message and great talent. I appreciate that you use your gifts to bring good to others, especially with those "protestors" all around.

I resonated with your bio in that you have left the church (for now) in disillusionment. Being a gay man myself, established "Christian" churches have exasperated me for decades, especially the Roman Catholic church for all kinds of reasons, including their haughty declaration of validity exclusive of other religions and paths to God. I am grateful for MCC, the UCC, and the UU churches for inclusion of us and all people. I have attended several supportive churches after coming out many years ago, but I don't attend church now except for special occasions. I have felt similar disillusionment, plus the continued spiritual aggression that most major religions practice against GLBT people isn't going to change my position anytime soon.

Today, I consider myself agnostic - questioning the traditional existence of God taught in my youth, but thankfully I'm seeking a higher power in my every day life. If God exists in heaven after we die, then that's great! However, in the meantime, I can't act falsely and pretend to worship a god that I don't even know that's there. In any case, I have been the recipient of many miracles in life that I believe were divinely or serendipitously inspired, and am grateful for the concept of open-mindedness, acceptance, and spiritual challenge.

I wish you and 3.12 the best of luck in your ministry and music. When you closed with the "Beautiful" song, that was so sweet. Thanks for being there for the disillusioned, the fearful, and the hurting people among us.

Hi Jason,

Thank you and 3.12 for a wonderful performance at the Harrisburg Pride Fest yesterday, and for lending your voice to the Harrisburg Men's Chorus on Friday night.

I'm an alumnus of the HMC, and Harrisburg is my hometown.  In 1993, my husband, a member of the Baltimore Men's Chorus swept me off my feet when we met during the HMC's spring concert.  The BMC joined us to perform at the Zembo Mosque all those years ago, and a year later I moved to Baltimore to begin a new chapter of my life with my husband.  We had our Holy Union through MCC of the Spirit at the Unitarian Church where the HMC rehearses in October 1994.

I truly appreciate that you shared your talent and voice at the Festival to help drown out those nasty protestors.  It's a real shame that they were even there, and it reminded me of why I don't participate in traditional religion anymore...they block my spiritual path to God as a gay man.  I'm most fortunate that I have found other ways to connect with God.  There are so many, though, that don't have a spiritual connection because of people like them or for other reasons, and I am glad 3.12 performs such a ministry that might reach those people.

I wish you the best of luck in your music and ministry.

I was at the Harrisburg parade last week & had the privilige to hear your group sing.

The power behind the words and music was amazingly heartwarming. I was shocked that a CD was not up for sale, as I would have run to purchase it.

I am 47 years old & only in last 3-4 years have I acknowledged to myself & everyone else who I really am.

As you continue your Journey, may the God of your understanding continue to Bless you & your music.

It would be great if you could try to get to Long Island for our parade next year.

Have a wonder day

I NEED A CD. Your music is healing & makes one feel complete. So uplifting, so liberating—I want to live better, be better, & spread the joy. You are blessed and your mission has worked. I need a CD of your music to uplift me on days I need a lift—Even on Sundays when you are @ Unity—I know life is good. Thanks for this reminder.

I believe in love too, and together we do make the world a better place. Keep up the awesome work

Exactly 2 years ago my then-22-year-old son Dan was diagnosed with cancer. Exactly one year ago I gave a speech at Toastmasters entitlted, “525,600 minutes,” and started my talk with the beginning lines of the song—then spoke of the previous 525,600 minutes in Dan’s life and how it changed so much. Danny is now a 2-year survivor. Our family has deep faith and we believe he will be healed by prayer, chemo, and the mercy of God.

Your group is doing a fabulous job spreading the love message. Your voices blend so beautifully. You bless everyone who had the privilege of hearing you. God bless you all and your ministry.

David,

You know perfectly well that Augustine said, “he who sings prays twice”—what took you so long to figure out that music is, and has always been, your church? It was thrilling, uplifting, energizing, and I probably felt more love for you tonight than I ever have.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing this evening with me.

—Paul Foltz

Hello, 3.12!

I’m just wondering if any of you ever got to sleep last night. Your music was so wonderful, and you so obviously poured your whole selves into it—and the audience reaction was incredible. That had to be a phenomenal experience for you.

For me? Well, I obviously did not have high enough expectations. I thought you’d be excellent, but I was just amazed at the concert! Your music selection was outstanding, and several songs brought me to tears. I am proud to know you!

It was a wonderful, uplifting experience. I can’t wait until your next concert.

Love to you all.
